An internet chemist            Sept 2009

There is an internet chemist that on the face of it looks good.  But let me tell you my experience of them.

On the 14th July 2009 I made an online order to "ChemistDirect.  Using my VISA debit card I ordered four single-use enema bottles.  The cost was £10.51 that included the cost of delivery.  Murphy seems to have got into the act with his well-known law, and the post office decided to deliver during the only two hours of the week that this house empty.  They left their usual card telling me that I could collect the package at the Glaisdale Parkway Delivery office (GPDO).  As I have two very gammy feet and either use a taxi or my mobility scooter.  The delivery office is three or four miles away and (another story) the Council blocked the shortest route because a motorcyclist was seen to use an alleyway that leads from this estate to all points west.  As taxis cost money and I was not in urgent need of the delivery, I decided to send GPDO a letter along with their "sorry you were out" card asking them to deliver the package to our local sub-postoffice.  They ignored that letter and returned the package to the sender.

I got on to ChemistDirect again and paid  them for a second delivery.  This time I asked that they send the item to the local sub-post office and gave them the full address.  Nothing happened and I sent email after email, occasionally getting a reply that indicated that their record system was virtually non-existent.  I always repeated the order number on every email so that they knew who I was and what I had ordered.  I have a pack of 25 sheets of paper copying emails to, and a few emails from, them.

Eventually the package arrived on the 2nd of September AT THIS HOUSE.  So for the 25th email copy, I congratulated
them on their serious efforts to get things wrong. The P.O. van arrived half an hour before the wife and I went to our regular Wednesday Pensioner's Luncheon Club.

So if you want a song and a dance, make an order on ChemistDirect of Birmingham.
