AJN                    Not very happy with BT

BT have a virtual monopoly and can therefore be stroppy with customers.  I have seriously considered changing to Virgin, but they too, use India for cheapness.  The trouble I find with India is that the form of English they speak is almost unintelligible to me.  I often get calls from, I presume, India.  When I tell them that i simply cannot cannot understand what they are saying, so "please write me a letter" , they hang up.

I suspect that some of the calls I have had have been in reply to my letters to the "BT Correspondence Centre".  It seems that the Correspondence Centre is just a way of getting rid of awkward questions.  In my last letter I specifically said that I wanted a written reply, but that was a month ago and i have not had one yet

The trouble with changing from BT is that they own all the telephone lines. My thought about Virgin were because that because they use video cable buried in the street.  You know, the ones that were laid a few years ago when half the trees in the street had their roots damaged by cutting a channel with a diamond cutter.  The workman found that tree roots were easier to cut than asphalt.
