AEZ An internet trading company I have had a bad experience with
The internet is a wonderful medium for shopping. I my case having two gammy feet means that trailing around the High Street would be a very traumatic affair. With my mobility scooter, I can travel a few miles in a very long time. The internet is a godsend. But there is always a company that you have trouble with, and I record here my bad experience: sales@yourspares.com Let me explain.
I have an old wet and dry Hoover, but I lost the wet hose set during one of my house moves. I use the vacuum cleaner as a garden machine picking up fine rubbish. The Dry Hose has an inner diameter of about one inch. When I try to pick up leaves of any significant size with any stiffness, the hose clogs up. We get a lot of hard brown ivy or holly-type leaves around here, and it is quicker to collect them with my long-reach grabber (the one I bought from the hospital where I had a colon tumour removed). Theses grabbers are intended to pick up a newspaper or handkerchief from the foot of the bed without the very painful exercise stretching the abdomen. I cruise round in my scooter and pick up the leaves and deposit them in a bucket on the floor of my scooter. But the gutter outside the house has all sorts of other detritus that is too small for my grabber to handle.
I found this internet company by using AOL's search engine. I have now learned one lesson the hard way: don't do business with a firm that does not publish its address. This one keeps its location secret, and I wonder why!
I ordered a Wet-hose assemble for a Hoover S4308 Wet & Dry Powervac. The price quoted was approx £17. When the Hoover package arrived it contained a short hose of about one inch inner diameter Product (E33) HOSE. Which machine uses this item is unknown to me. I immediately emailed the company and was told that they had delivered the item I ordered.
At this point I must digress and comment on other items I have ordered via the internet. Many sites are badly designed and have all sorts of glitches. This particular site is certainly not the best I have used, although I have met worse. It is conceivable that what happened once before on another site, MAY have happened on this site. I have found that on the poorly designed sites, if you click on a link, the page you are transferred to it is not always the page you thought you were moving to.
Anyway, I asked the email-clerk to give me an address to which I could return the unwanted item. I did not expect the company to pay the postage in the way that the good internet companies do with a faulty order. I simply got no answer. Does anyone want an E33 Hose? I won't throw it away because I am one of those sort of persons who use all sorts of unlikely bits of "rubbish". Talk to my wife and she'll say that I am like a myopic squirrel. But I have got out of all sorts of problems with my collection of bits of metal and screws.
I am still looking for a Wet Hose assembly for a Hoover S4308 so that I can pick up garden leaves. The standard vacuum leaf collector is far too bulky to carry around using my scooter. This Wet & Dry machine is near to ideal for size and weight.
